friends-thanksHappy Thanksgiving!  As you might have guessed, I’m thankful for tv: whether its Joey with a turkey stuck on his head, or promising to eat an entire turkey and getting the meat sweats.  While it was extremely difficult to pick just one Friends Thanksgiving episode, here are my top three Thanksgiving tv episodes:
3.  Gilmore Girls: A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving

Lorelei and Rory get invited to 4 Thanksgiving feasts and in typical Gilmore Girl fashion, devour full meals at each (if tofurkey at the Kim’s counts).
Lorelei:  “It’s not too much food. This is what we’ve been training for our whole lives. This is our destiny. This is our finest hour.”  Rory:  “Or final hour.  Okay, four Thanksgiving dinners.”  Lorelei: “Yeah, we’ll skip the rolls.”

buffy2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Pangs

A Native American tribe of spirits infects Xander with syphilis and smallpox, Spike is tied to a chair, and Buffy goes overboard trying to have the perfect Thanksgiving dinner at Giles’, only to be attacked by the Indian spirits.  And really, what Thanksgiving is complete without an onslaught of Indian arrows to ruin the cranberry sauce?
Buffy (describing her trip to the store): “It was pretty darn scary. It was more like a riot than a Ralphs. I thought I was going to have to use Slayer moves on this one woman who was completely hoarding the pumpkin pie filling.”

1. Friends: The One Where Ross got Highfriends-thanks-2

Rachel is in charge of the dessert and makes half and English trifle and half Shepherd’s pie.  Ross: “Tastes like feet!”    Rachel: “You just follow the recipe!  If it says boil two cups of salt, you just boil two cups of salt!”

So get into your stretchy pants that have plenty of give (or borrow Phoebe’s maternity pants) and tell me your favorite Thanksgiving TV or Movies!
